I'm Ali Zaman. I was born in Karachi, Pakistan, but my heart considers Richmond, Virginia home. I graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University school of Mass Communications with a B.S. in Creative Advertising in 2011. Since then, I’ve been serving as the head Art Director for the iconic Virginia is for Lovers travel brand.
I always been a nerd. I like building computers and 3D Printers. I like to fix old film cameras. My handwriting is terrible. I can’t draw. I don’t like the way mint leaves smell or the sound pencils make when they write on paper.
Creating art has never seemed to come naturally to me. I’ve always considered myself more analytical than creative— a problem solver, not an artist. Because of that, as a creative, my passion has always been to create work that remain effective even with modest budgets and looming deadlines. Work that doesn’t just look good in a portfolio, but delivers real world results.
